Overview

The ATHE level 6 qualifications in Healthcare management include one 120 credit Diploma and two Certificates, however, ATHE also provides Awards in subjects such as Finance in the Public Sector, along with others which are listed amongst the management qualifications and are also relevant to working in the healthcare industry. Whilst the core skills and concepts of management are still very much applicable to a manager in the healthcare industry, there are also some specific areas where managers transferring from other industries may struggle. This qualification considers and addresses these areas, strengthening the learners’ skill set for a manager position.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must hold/meet one or more of the criteria on the list below:

• A certificate/ diploma in management studies or business management
• An equivalent professional qualification from a recognised institution.
• Mature students with a minimum of two years relevant work experience may be considered.
• This course is designed for learners aged 19 and above.
• The provider will determine English Language ability if English is not your native language.
• IELTS 4.5 or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.

Progressions

Successful completion of Level 6 Diploma in Healthcare Management qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions including progression to relevant ATHE Level 7 Diplomas. The Level 6 Diploma in Healthcare Management has been developed with career progression and professional recognition in mind. As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are eligible to gain direct entry into relevant Master’s degree programmes.
