Yantai Institute of Science and Technology, commonly referred to as "Yantai Science and Technology," is a full-time private undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shandong Province. The school was originally established in 2005 as Quancheng College of Jinan University. In 2019, it joined the China Education Group, and in May 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Yantai Institute of Science and Technology, transitioning from an independent college to a privately-run undergraduate institution. As of May 2023, according to the official website data, the campus covers an area of 1789 acres, with a building area of over 350,000 square meters, and houses a digital library with nearly one million volumes; it comprises six secondary colleges including the College of Intelligent Engineering, Business School, and School of Culture and Media, along with two teaching departments, the Marxism College and the Department of Public Sports. The institute offers 33 state-recruited undergraduate programs and 17 state-recruited specialty programs; it has 802 full-time and part-time teachers, with approximately 18,000 full-time students enrolled. Yantai Institute of Science and Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the "Finance" Business Governance Research Institute.
